Birth Doula Services

I serve local families during childbearing to help them achieve positive, meaningful birth experiences.

Doulas provide non-judgemental support to the family, helping them plan

and navigate the birthing process (through joys, challenges, and sometimes, changes in plans)

and assisting during the birth with comfort measures and physical/emotional support.

Whether the plan is an unmedicated home birth or a planned cesarean, a doula can help!

Prenatal Period

As your doula, we meet 2-3 times in person to get to know each other and for me to familiarize myself with your preferences. We discuss your wishes, develop your birth plan, discuss informed consent, and work together to optimize your birth experience.

I am available for phone support during this period and offer thoughtful suggestions when unexpected struggles or changes is plans occur.

Clients have unlimited access to my lending library, which contains many valuable pregnancy, birth, and parenting resources.

Your Birth

As your doula, I am on call to attend your birth. While attending your birth I offer comfort measures to ease your labor journey and offer physical and emotional support to the family. I help the family both during the labor and birth, and in the minutes and hours following bringing baby earthside.

I attend and support all kinds of births, including planned home births, hospital births, medicated births, cesarean births, and beyond!

As a local Mariposa resident, I am happy to meet clients in their home to support their labor  as they wish (many doulas do not provide in-home support services in our area).

Postpartum Period

I meet with clients in their home after their birth for usually one additional meeting. We discuss their birth and feelings about the experience. I assess how the family is adjusting to life with the new baby, and. offer resources and suggestions for families that desire additional help or are struggling.

Families continue to have access to my lending library for 6 months after their baby is born.
